So hot on the heals of running the Great Edinburgh Run last weekend, today I walked the 23 mile Glasgow Kiltwalk (http://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk) with my husband Paul. It took us 6 hours and 2 minutes to complete the route, which runs from Glasgow Green through to Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond. Despite the training we’ve both been putting in we’re both feeling pretty sore now!
There was a great atmosphere on the walk and it was great to see so many people out supporting such a range of charities. The volunteers were absolutely amazing – they kept us all going with the encouragement, cheering and high fives. As you would expect there was also plenty of kilt wearing and other tartan items – although my kilt was a cheap eBay job as you can probably tell!
It was good to know that we can walk the 23 mile distance but we still have a lot of training if we’re going to be able to walk the 96 mile West Highland Way with backpack, tent and all in September.
I’m doing all of this for Cats Protection – I’m not naturally an outdoorsy type, so please do visit my JustGiving page to support me (https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/RorysFelineGood). Thanks again for everyone who has already sponsored.
