Rory's Feline Good

About

Hello and welcome to my blog!

The challenge ….

In 2017 I will be taking part in a number of challenges, including trekking the West Highland Way with my husband, Paul, to raise money for Cats Protection.  I’ll be using this blog to post about these challenges, my training and, of course, Rory and Mac.

I have never taken part in any challenge events for charity before and much prefer my home comforts to sleeping in a tent.  I want to really push myself, do something that is out of my comfort zone and try to raise as much money for Cats Protection as I can.

Introducing Rory …..

img_0795I first met Rory in 2012 at a Cats Protection West Lothian rehoming day when he was 8 weeks old.  He was such a cute kitten, but also a real character and you could already tell that he would grow into a beautiful cat.  I remember watching a little girl pick him up, he looked into her eyes and then bit her on the nose.  I knew then that we had to adopt him.

Unfortunately Rory has had health issues his whole life and in 2016 we had a scare where he stopped eating.  After corrective surgery and the right medication he is getting better now but the experience made me think long and hard about how important he is to me and how grateful I am to have him in my life.  I want to do something to recognise this and show my appreciation for all of the hard work that the volunteers at Cats Protection do to ensure that cats like Rory get a good home.

Mac joined our family in 2016.  Also adopted from Cats Protection West Lothian, this cheeky black kitten crashed into our lives to run rampage around our home.  As he runs he laughs at us and everything (it has to be seen to be believed).  He has a habit of staring at the fridge and screaming “MILK” at the top of his lungs.
