Trekking the West Highland Way

Although I am taking part in a number of challenges this year for Cats Protection the main event is definitely the West Highland Way trek, which I’m doing with my husband Paul.

The West Highland Way is 96 miles long and we plan to walk it over five days.  To add to the challenge we’re going to be camping all the way and carrying our things.  Five days is a stretch for us as most guides recommend walking over seven or eight days.   Continue reading

Glasgow Kiltwalk – a Mighty Stride

So hot on the heals of running the Great Edinburgh Run last weekend, today I walked the 23 mile Glasgow Kiltwalk (http://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk) with my husband Paul.  It took us 6 hours and 2 minutes to complete the route, which runs from Glasgow Green through to Balloch on the shores of Loch Lomond.  Despite the training we’ve both been putting in we’re both feeling pretty sore now! Great Edinburgh Run – Running for Cats

I have a number of challenges that I’m taking part in for Cats Protection in April, which means that my blog has turned more into a running/ walking blog than originally intended.  Never fear – normal service will resume shortly with more on Rory’s thoughts, Mac’s guides and crafting cat stuff.  The main purpose of all of this was always to raise awareness of the work that Cats Protection do, help raise some money for them and let you keep track of all of the things that I am doing. Zombies, Run! Spring Virtual 10k

So today I completed the second of my running challenges for Cats Protection – the Zombies, Run! Spring 10k.  It was a bit different to a normal race though because it was virtual – this means that people from around the world can take part but just need to run it in the same period of time.  Continue reading
