West Highland Way Trek – Complete

On Sunday we completed our biggest challenge to raise money for Cats Protection, the 96 mile West Highland Way Trek.  It was tough going and I think I’ll be recovering for a couple of weeks!

Trekking the West Highland Way

Although I am taking part in a number of challenges this year for Cats Protection the main event is definitely the West Highland Way trek, which I’m doing with my husband Paul.

The West Highland Way is 96 miles long and we plan to walk it over five days.  To add to the challenge we’re going to be camping all the way and carrying our things.  Five days is a stretch for us as most guides recommend walking over seven or eight days.   Continue reading

Running for CHAS

In 2017 I’m taking part in a lot of challenges to raise money for Cats Protection (you can see a full list of challenges here).  However, last weekend I ran in the Edinburgh Marathon relay event for the Children’s Hospice Associations Scotland (CHAS), the chosen charity for my team.  The relay involved teams of 4 and we had four relay teams participating from work.

Cats of Crete

If you’re wondering why I haven’t posted for a while, it’s because I’ve been on holiday in Crete.  I took a break from blogging and from training, a chance to properly unwind.  When on holiday I met a number of stray, un-neutered cats at my hotel.  This blog post is about them, but also some advice for tourists generally on helping stray cats.
